General Questions
Baseline FAQs to get oriented on industrial demolition in live, production environments.
What’s the difference between interior/selective demo and structural demo?
Interior/selective focuses on process lines, utilities, mezzanines, and non-load-bearing elements within live plants. Structural addresses load-bearing systems, foundations, slabs, and major separations (e.g., press bays, pits, tanks).
Do you work around production and outage windows?
Yes. We plan sequences around outage windows, define cut-ins, and phase noisy or high-risk work during low-impact shifts to protect throughput and quality.
Can you operate under our site-specific EHS program?
Absolutely. We align to plant policies and AHJ requirements, incorporate your permits and sign-offs, and document compliance daily.
Safety & Compliance
Controls first: permits, LOTO, JHAs, rigging plans, air/dust/noise, and documented inspections.
How do you handle Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)?
We develop machine-specific isolation procedures, verify zero energy, maintain group boards, and document shift hand-offs.
What about hot work, confined space, or elevated work?
We follow your permit systems with gas testing, fire watch, retrieval plans, fall protection, and barricades—logged daily.
Do you complete Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)?
Yes—task-level JHAs updated as site conditions change; reviewed in daily huddles with sign-ins.
Scope & Scheduling
Study, plan, phase—then execute during outages with minimal impact to production.
How early should we involve you for planning?
As early as concept. We’ll validate scope, identify utilities and constraints, draft a phased plan, and flag value-recovery opportunities.
Can you work nights/weekends to hit outage windows?
Yes. We schedule around production demand and coordinate inspections so turnover stays on track.
Rigging & Critical Lifts
Engineered picks, certified gear, spotters, and clear communications—documented before every lift.
Do you provide PE-stamped lift plans?
Where required by policy or AHJ. Plans include load charts, CG verification, pick points, ground bearing checks, mats, and exclusion zones.
How are below-the-hook devices managed?
Inspected and tagged per schedule; we maintain certificates for slings, shackles, spreaders, and special fixtures.
Asset Recovery & Recycling
Monetize surplus equipment and materials with auditable documentation.
Do you coordinate resale/auction of equipment?
Yes—inventory & valuation, tagging, photo catalogs, lot creation, and resale/auction coordination with removal logistics.
How is scrap handled?
Profiled, segregated, and documented with certified weights and chain of custody; rebates tracked for final accounting.
Documentation & Close-Out
Everything you need for audits, insurers, and leadership sign-off.
What’s included in the final close-out package?
JHAs, LOTO records, permits, lift plans, manifests, weight tickets, photo logs, and a summary report with variance capture and recycling returns.
Do you provide daily reports?
Yes—progress, headcount, equipment, safety notes, photos, and next-day plan to maintain transparency.
Pricing & Contracts
Transparent assumptions with options to reduce net cost via salvage and scheduling.
Do you offer T&M, lump sum, or GMP?
All are available. We’ll recommend the model that best fits scope certainty, schedule risk, and salvage value.
Can asset recovery reduce project cost?
Yes—equipment resale and scrap rebates are applied in final accounting to lower net cost where applicable.
Have a question we didn’t cover?
Send your drawings and outage window—We’ll respond with scope notes and a planning checklist.
